Sneaky Sneaky...

August 22, 2010

One morning last week I got up with Emily around 8 o'clock. I was so excited that I was able to sleep in that morning, but I wondered why my little alarm clock (aka Kylie) hadn't come in to wake me up yet. Thinking she must have just been really tired and needed to sleep in, I hung out in my room with little Emie. A couple minutes later I heard something coming from the kitchen. I went out to see what it was and this is what I found...

Later that night, after I told Mike about Kylie's morning snack, he asked her if she had a cupcake for breakfast. She said, "uh huh." Then he asked, "Did you put parmesean cheese on your cupcake" and she replied, "uh huh, num!"

The next morning, she came in with an apple in hand and the following day I woke up to the sound of pasta being poured out onto my kitchen floor. I don't know about this whole new-found independence thing...

Visit From Papa T

Papa came out to visit for Kylie's birthday again this year (I say we make this a new tradition, huh Dad?) and, of course, to meet little Miss Emily. His stay was way too short, but we still had a great time!
Papa and Emily meeting for the first time.

Before Papa left, we spent an afternoon at an arcade/mini golf/bumper boats kind of place. It was stinking hot so we played a very speedy round of mini golf and then played some arcade games in the cool air conditioned building.

Mini golf got too hot for Ky so she opted for sitting in the shade and eating grapes with Em.

I love me some chubby baby toes!
We wanted Kylie to put with Daddy so I could get a picture since I missed it when we first started, but by the end of our round she was ready to go back inside. So this is the best we got.
All of her arcade prizes.

We all got up bright and early on Saturday to take Papa to the airport in Tulsa. Please forgive the bed head and lack of make-up but we wanted to get a few more pictures before he left.
bye-bye kisses for Papa

Thanks for coming to see us Papa. We miss you already!

Kylie's 2nd Birthday

August 21, 2010

Kylie's 2nd birthday was celebrated with Mommy, Daddy, Emily and Papa T. We just played during the day and then opened presents and had cake and ice cream after dinner. I still can't believe my little girl is two! I always thought that 2 years old was so far away, and now she is moving and talking like a big girl! All of a sudden (really since Emie came) she is speaking so much more clearly and putting together sentences and trying new words. This new skill has her talking ALL THE TIME! But we love it. She has the cutest little voice and she is so stinking smart!

Opening presents from Papa.
Trying on her new "Hat, Me" and "By-cohl" from Mommy and Daddy.
A little help getting started.
Mom, please... I'm on the phone!
Her first fall. Good thing she was on the grass.
Now, on to the cake... "Happy Birthday to you!"
She LOVED blowing out the candles. We sung Happy Birthday and she blew out the candles 4 times :)
"Mmmmmm, Num!" Kylie has recently become obsessed with putting food in her belly button. I have no idea why... maybe she's saving it for later?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KYLIE!
I hope it was a great one!

2 Whole Years!

August 20, 2010

My baby girl turned 2 years old yesterday.

I think this means she is officially a big girl now and that make me just a little sad. She's growing into the sweetest, most beautiful and funny little girl. And she is so smart; she amazes me every day with the new things she's learned. We are so grateful that she came into our family just 2 years ago and are so blessed to have her as our little girl.
Happy Birthday, Kylie! (Or as you say, "Happy Me!!!") We love you!
Kylie took her new, big girl "by-cohl" for a spin before bed, but not before sending a quick text out to all her peeps.
(See, she cracks me up!)

I'll post more pictures from her "Happy Day" tomorrow :)

Family Home Evening

August 16, 2010

Last Monday night, while Kylie and Daddy were doing this:

...Emily and Mommy were doing this:
In case you hadn't already noticed, Emily is definitely a little red head and I love it! And her cheeks are getting so chubby and delicious. I could just eat her up!

Sisterly Love

August 8, 2010

Kylie loves it when Emily is anywhere near her. She is always asking to hold Emmie or sit next to her and I can't even count how many times she gives Sissy kisses during the day. The other night, Kylie was watching her "Mouse, Cook" movie (10 points if you can tell me what movie that is!) and she asked if Baby could sit next to her. They cuddled right up together in the bean bag chair and my Mommy heart melted!

I tried to get a picture of my two girls looking at me but Kylie was too interested in the mouse...
...and the Emily decided she was hungry...
These two make life so wonderful and so unpredictable.
