Two Big Days for Our Two Month Old

October 26, 2008

It's amazing to think that Kylie is already more than 2 months old! And, of course, with this comes new experiences for both baby and parents.

On Friday Miss Kylie had her 2 month 'Well Baby Visit' to the pediatrician. She is doing so well and is so healthy. She now weighs 13 lbs 7 ounces and is 24 1/2 inches long. They told us she is in the 90th percentile for both height and weight. She's so good at growing! With this visit, however, also came her first set of vaccinations. Both she and Mom actually did alot better than any of us had expected. Kylie only cried for a little bit and I was able to hold back my tears just about the entire time. Kylie was such a trooper.

One of Kylie's battle wounds.

Taking a break from sucking on her hand just long enough to look over for a picture.

She loves playing on Mommy and Daddy's bed.

Just watching some TV with Daddy.

The next day we all took a LONG trip to Oklahoma City, OK to go to the temple. It was definitely a long 4 hour drive but it was so wonderful to be able to get to the temple. Kylie even slept the whole way there. We had a caravan with our friends Todd and Laura and while they were inside we watched their boy Parker and then they watched Kylie while we were inside. That was another big day for me. I had never been away from Kylie... like ever... So the two hours we were away was a little tough, luckily we had such great friends to take care of her.

Mirror, Mirror...

Kylie has recently fallen in love with looking at herself in the mirror. She loves smiling at herself and has just started talking to herself too. So much fun!

Family Pictures

October 20, 2008

On Sunday afternoon we all went out with our good friends, Todd, Laura, and Parker and took some family pictures. It was definitely a good time and we got some pretty fun shots. Here are just a few.

Kylie was getting pretty tired by the time we got to the family group shots. But she's still so stinking cute.

Sleeping Beauty

October 19, 2008

It's (semi) Official! Kylie is sleeping through the night. Well... the last two nights she slept for a full 8 hours! What a blessing! She has been going to bed at about 9:00 and then waking up around 6 or 6:30. Now all Mike and I have to do is go to bed the same time she does...

In other news: We went on our very first all-day family outing on Saturday. We spent the day in Branson, Missouri. It was alot of fun. I was pretty nervous about how the day was going to go with feeding and diaper changes and naps. Kylie is definitely more comfortable with all of those when she is in the comfort of her own home, but she did surprisingly well, considering. We only had a couple grumpy moments but luckily we spent most of the day surrounded by stores with dressing rooms that provided us with a break from the chaos of people everywhere.

We started our adventure in Branson at quite possibly the worst restaurant we have ever been to. The food was horrible, the service was not great, the atmosphere was less than desirable and everyone in there smelt like they had just gotten back from their cigarette break. Why did we eat there, you may ask? Because we wanted to find a great hole-in-the-wall place that would just knock our socks off... that didn't quite happen... but it's a memory nonetheless. After our breakfast/lunch we went over to the outlet mall and did a little shopping. It was so busy and crazy but expected with only a couple months till Christmas. After the outlets we went down to Branson Landing which is a shopping center/boardwalk right on the river. It was neat. We finished the night with Joe's Crab Shack!!! It was great food, but again, bad service. Still, we had crab so there is really nothing to complain about.

We had a great day and made some fun memories of our first family day-trip. Here are some pictures from the end of our night.

Daddy and Kylie getting so excited for some crab. Mike later told me he likes crab but doesn't think it's worth the effort or the price... but he still took me there because he knows I love it, what a sweetie!

yum

Too bad we aren't in focus...

One last burping before we headed home.

These are from a few days ago. She was being such a little ham!

Trying to get a better look at the camera.

Baby's first words... kinda...

October 14, 2008

Kylie certainly loves to tell us all about her day. She has become so talkative lately. She says her 'oohs' and 'aahs,' 'goos' and 'gaas' but she also knows her mama's name. She says 'ehr-gaa' and it sounds just like she's saying Erica. It's not just me that thinks it either, Mike says she's saying my name too. It is so funny. Hopefully she'll learn MAMA someday too...

My latest favoritest craft is now making hair bows for Kylie. I think they have turned out pretty cute. I made this one to match her church dress on Sunday. We forgot to take pictures while she was wearing her dress but it still matched her post-church outfit.

She was being so good just watching us eat dinner. We have finally gotten down to a good schedule where Mike and I can usually have a nice peaceful dinner together. All bets are off when we go out to dinner though...

Just hanging out with Daddy after dinner.

She hates pacifiers but loves to find her fist and every once in a while she'll find that little thumb. She definitely gets that from her mama.

Whoever said...

October 10, 2008

Whoever said baby girls can't wear blue has obviously never seen how good this little beauty looks! These are just some pictures of Kylie enjoying her mobile this morning. Our good friend Laura made this adorable onesie for her. She is so stinking beautiful!

These are some shot of bath time last night. She is so relaxed and calm during her bath. She just loves the warm water and looking at herself in the mirror too.

She doesn't seem very amused at Mommy's baby talk... or maybe it was the constant picture taking during bath time...?

Love the bubbles!

All wrapped up in her ducky robe. It's Mike's favorite!

Conference Weekend

October 5, 2008

This weekend was filled with wonderful family fun! We enjoyed another great General Conference and spent the whole weekend together as a family. It seemed like a really long weekend for some reason, and we loved every minute of it.

Today we went on a nice little walk between sessions. It was just beautiful and we had a ton of fun. It was nice to just go out and get some fresh air on such a beautiful day; and it wasn't even humid!

Just a taste of the scenery where we were walking. It was so pretty.

Just our happy little family! Kylie was having tons of fun... we think...

Taking part in her favorite past-time... blowing bubbles!

Taking baby for a walk.

The beautiful flowers my wonderful husband surprised me with! He's so great!

Talking to Daddy

October 1, 2008

I took this video on my phone so the quality isn't very good but she was so cute carrying on a conversation with her Daddy. She has become so much more talkative lately! It's so fun to watch her experience the world and learn new things everyday! We love our little girl!
